Sherlock Holmes and Toy Story 3

Two classics are coming back to the movies, the first is a new adaptation of a classic story, as Guy Ritchie, the director of Snatch and Love Stock and Two Smoking Barrels teams up with Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Jude Law (Alfie) to bring Sherlock Holmes to the big screen, looks like a really interesting adaptation which perfectly mixes action sequences with comedy and adventure, the trailer below.

The other trailer that was released this weekend was the highly expected Toy Story 3, its actually a teaser trailer, but you can see it includes the whole gang from past movies and the classic rivalry between Buzz and Woody... the trailer below...

Robin Hood

After 17 years since Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves hit the screen in 1991, they decided to bring the story back to the big screen. This time, as a Riddley Scott-Russell Crowe duo. This duo has made such great movies as Gladiator and American Gangster. The original idea was to make a movie called Nottingham in which Crowe was set to play the Sheriff of Nottingham and the story was going to circle around him. However Scott decided to edit the script a lot, and he now ended doing another Robin Hood movie, with Crow playing Robin Hood.

Other castings include, Cate Blanchett as Lady Marion, Kevin Durand as Little John and Matthew McFayden as the Sheriff. Without a doubt Im sure that Scott and Crowe will give this film an excellent combo and as soon as I get more info Ill be sure to post it.

Pygmy Jerboa

Thats what this creature is called, I have no f''ing idea what it is, but its supposed to be real...

I loved a commentary on the video that says: ¨It looks like a cross between a baby chicken and a mouse, like something Doctor Seuss would draw....adorable but really fucking weirdº

Tacos La Mexicana

Ok, its time for the next street restaurant report, this time the place was a Carnicería/Restaurant called 'La Mexicana' located in the very center of Monterrey, behind the Alameda. It even has its own Parking Lot in front of it.

The place looks a lot like the 'El Chavo' Neighborhood, you get to feel the folklore all around you and the place is constantly packed. The concept is quite simple. They sell what we here in Mexico call Sweat Tacos, but they have them stored on baskets, even the menu is not so wide, they just have Chicharron, Morcon, Deshebrada, Frijol, and Carnitas... Deshebrada and Carnitas being the best tasting ones. Most of the tables you have to eat standing up and in the middle of the table you have a huge bucket of Salsa. And on a curious note, they have the menu on the wall with red lightbulbs by the side, if they go out of one of them the lightbulb is turned off.

Overall the place is a MUST VISIT highly recommended, but be sure to be really hungry when you go, cause you will eat at least 6+ tacos. Here are the pictures.

UP, Another brilliant creation?

The movie has yet to open for the public in general, however, many critics have already seen the film and most of them are stunned by the brilliant movie... I think after watching WALL-E its going to be hard to rate this one as a better one, however, that is the first thing critics are saying...

"As an avid lover of Wall-E, I felt Pixar could never reach those heights again... I was wrong"

"The first 5 minutes demolished every other Pixar feature"

" The overall look of the film, puts every other animation studio to shame."

" A near perfect feature, a thrilling combination of humour, pathos, action and drama, it may well be Pixar's finest feature yet."

" As of May, Best Picture of the Year"

The top 3 movies in the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) have ratings of 9.1, 9.1 and 9.0... the first ratings of the movie have it in 9.3!!! Obviously this will change as more people see the film, however it looks like it is another amazing achievement by PIXAR... Im sure its going to be as great as they promise it to be... cant wait to see it...

Here is a special sneak preview at Dug the talking Dog

Tortas La Purisima

I had heard about this Tortas for some time now at work, but I had never had the opportunity to go and try one until last week, when I went with a couple of Colleagues and boy was I satisfied. Supposedly this Tortas have been around for like 30 or 40 years and it is said that they sell aroun 1500 Tortas DAILY!!!

The ingredients are simple yet brilliant, two pork ham slices, two cheese slices, two pork ham and cheese slices, a huge ass bread, and a whole avocado... thats right, one avocado per Torta its amazing how much avocado they do per serving... some other notes, they dont use plates, you have both your hands for that, a delicious yet really spicy salsa verde, and of course its in the street so there are pigeons on the floor who eat whatever falls of your Torta... Quite decent prices also for such a big meal 40 pesos per torta...

Tortas la Purisima as been LANKURIOSIDAD approved. Talk to me for more info... here are some pictures for you:
