What the heck is happening? Michael Moore invests his money in doing documentary films that spoof the US government, well, seems now some people invested money in doing a movie that spoofs michael moore in a way of doing a satire of the Christmas Carol story featuring Heroes of the American Past.

What I like the most about this, is that the star of the film is Kevin Farley (Thats right! its Chris Farley's Brother) and it seems that he has found his groove, another god thing about the movie is that the director is David Zucker who brought us Airplane! The Naked Gun Series and Scary Movie...

Best Movie Weapons.

I was reading about this on the internet, and I thought I'd make a post for all of you LK readers... I found an article that enlists the top movie Weapons of all time, so here I will bring you five of the ones which I like the most with a little description of each one...

Here they are in no particular order:


1. The Bowler Hat (Goldfinger): James Bond fans will know a lot about this weapon used by Bond's enemy Oddjob... the Bowler cuts through stone, wood, and even people, here they could've put any gadget from the Bond films, but of course, the hat won because its a really odd weapon.


2. Double Ended Lightsaber (Star Wars: The Phantom Menace): Probably the best detail about this movie, which in my opinion, lacked some of the magic that the Star Wars film usually have... Darth Maul was a great character and everyone remembers his dual lighted pimped out double energy saber, which was also part of a great fight in the Star Wars saga.


3. Bull Whip (Indiana Jones Series): Who would forget Dr. Jones favorite weapon of choice, he uses guns, swords, even his fists, but nobody handles a whip better than Indy. This faithful weapon helped him through really though times in every type of situation imaginable.

4. The Little Friend (Scarface): Another classic weapon from the film industry, made one of the best endings a movie has had, although its looks just like your everyday machine gun, this 'little friend' made the list because it is the main ingredient of one of the greatest scenes in history, the collapse of Tony Montana.


5. The Cattle Gun (No Country For Old Men): whoever watched this movie, knows what Im talking about, besides being one of the weirdest, most scary weapons of all time, it was also the weapon one of the coldest assassins ever used on the big screen. He uses his cattle stun gun to displace the brains of anyone that gets in his way.


6. The Noisy Cricket (Men in Black): Who can forget the Noisy Cricket, maybe many of us didn't know the actual name of the gun, but who could forget this scene in MIB when Will Smith grabs the gun and whenever he fires it he flies in the air because of the weapons power.

7. The Proton Pack (Ghostbusters): What could be cooler than how Ray Venkman describes this piece of weapon "Each of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back."The proton beams are powerful enough to hold ghosts in place and wreck hotel ballrooms; one can only wonder what the powerful stream of energy would do to a person.


8. Honorable Mentions: Jason's Machete, Freddy Krueger's Fingers, Krull's Glaive, Braveheart's Sword, The Atlantean Sword, The Annihilator 2000 used in Beverly Hills Cop 3, if you haven't seen this I will be posting the video soon, we could go on and on naming movie weapons, but remember these are just a summary of all of the best weapons, and some of my personal favorites.

Apple Strikes Again! The Macbook Touch

As I expected, just as I had bought my new black MacBook, two weeks later I got the news... Apple is already working on its next biggest product....... and its a laptop.

Many fans have been asking apple for something similar to the pad notebooks or tablet notebooks, that HP, DELL, and almost every other computer manufacturer has. Well, now the rumors are really circling around the new MacBook Touch. With many features similar to the Ipod Touch, or the Iphone, this piece of equipment promises to be revolutionary and amazing, as most apple new products commonly are.
Sources say:

"Think MacBook screen, possibly a bit smaller, in glass with iPhone-like, but fuller-featured multi-touch. Gesture library. Full Mac OS X. This is why they bought P.A. Semi. Possibly with Immersion's haptic tech. Slot-loading SuperDrive. Accelerometer. GPS. Pretty expensive to produce initially, but sold at "low" price that will reduce margins. Apple wants to move these babies. And move they will. This is some sick shit. App Store-compatible, able to run Mac apps, too. By October at the latest."

Everything appears to be solid, and true, even the same webpage that started with the rumor, has been the same page that has confirmed several of apple's new products in the past, like itunes wireless, and the ipod touch. Sources even say that there might be a possibility that the MacBook Touch fits into the side of a normal Apple Desktop computer, hence synchronizing it with the hard drives. Phelps Goes back to Sea World

Heard about this from a good friend of mine (aljoga) and thought I'd look it up... If you have never seen theonion.com, its a website that its completely made like it was actual news from everyday but all of the content is fake, obviously made in creative really funny way, its commonly used to mock politics, world news, and in this case the olympics.

The article is called 'Michael Phelps return to his tank at Sea World' and I bring you an abstract from it... if you want to keep on reading it, you can click where it says to do so:

"ORLANDO—Fourteen-time Olympic gold medalist and SeaWorld main attraction Michael Phelps returned to his seven-million-gallon water tank Wednesday to resume his normal schedule of performing in six shows a day for marine park crowds every day of the week.

Phelps, the 6'4", 200-pound aquatic mammal, and the first ever SeaWorld swimmer to be raised in captivity by foster swimmers (Mark Spitz and Dara Torres), was recaptured by trainer Bob Bowman in a hoop net baited with an entire Dutch apple pie following Phelps' final Olympic event last Sunday. Phelps was then tethered to the rudder of a container ship bound for St. Petersburg, guided down local waterways, and introduced back into his home habitat, the tank in SeaWorld's 5,500 seat stadium, known to park officials and visitors alike as "Phelps' Happy Harbor."

"Michael seemed really excited to be back," said Bowman, adding that the male swimmer became playful upon entering his tank, breaching the water and sounding repeatedly. "He just started swimming freestyle and backstroke, and only stopped to slide belly first onto the tank's platform so he could be fed dozens of fried egg sandwiches."

"He fell asleep at the surface of the water around midnight," Bowman added.

Though Bowman plans on continuing the long-running aquatic show "Michael, The Yankee Doodle Swim Team Captain," in which Phelps was performing prior to leaving for Beijing, Bowman said he and Phelps would begin working on an all-new production, which will debut in September with the title "Champion!" Bowman has promised this show would be the most ambitious program in the history of Olympic swimmer sea spectacles.

Bowman says one stunt called the "Flying Medal" will begin with Phelps' 14 gold medals being suspended above the water. Phelps will then enter the stadium butterfly-stroking at full speed, coursing along the surface, and with every breach of the water, placing his head through the hoop of one medal after another. If Phelps is wearing all 14 medals at the end of the stunt, Bowman said, the swimmer will be rewarded with a whole pizza and a pound of cooked enriched pasta...."

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

I went to the Sultanes vs Diablos Rojos games yesterday, and it reminded me of this great song, which is usually done in the seventh inning stretch on a game. I was telling my girlfriend about Harry Caray (didn't remember his name yesterday) and how he used to sing it in Wrigley Field, and even though he didn't invent it, he sure popularized the song... you can tell how he used to enjoy singing it. Now just celebrities and important people get to sing it every once in a while. Some examples include: Tony Romo, Ozzy Osbourne, William Hung, and the latest american idol winner David Cook.

Shame on Cuba

Angel Matos, a cuban 'athlete' if he can be called that, was suspended today in Beijing, and banned for life, after he lost the bronze medal fight, and angry at the judge's decision, threw him a kick to the face.

There are ways to appeal if you are not happy with a judge's decision, you can file a complaint against the olympic committee and they will sure hear you out, but clearly round house kicking the judge to the face, is the way of animals! He brought a great shame to his home country of Cuba and a great shame to the latin community, and just a great shame to the world.

Body of Lies

Check out Riddley Scott's newest movie, Scott, for those of you who don't know him, is the director of incredible films, such as Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, and the recent American Gangster.

This time the collaboration is between Leonardo DiCaprio, who is quickly becoming one of hollywood's finest actors and the already distinguished Russell Crowe. The movie is called Body of Lies and it looks a lot like Scorsese's The Departed.

Can't wait for these one to come out.

Microsoft Fights Back

For a while, Microsoft has had to stand behind Apple's shadow, at least in the ad campaigns... The Get a Mac campaign (below) has been highly successful, and it has even brought down the ratings on regular pcs, and of course on microsoft operating systems. They started targeting pcs in general, but as the campaign has advanced, they are more and more targeting Vista, and all of its flaws.

Well, Microsoft, has decided to fight back, and they hired some of the best advertising agencies in the world to help them... Their first idea has been born, the campaign is going to be called "Windows, not Walls". And to promote it they have hired comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who people see as a cool, funny comedian, rumors say he will be getting around 10 million dollars for the campaign, and that Mr. Seinfeld will share the laughs with Microsoft's creator Bill Gates, bringing the clients the idea that Mr. Gates gets involve with his clients, and has direct personal contact with them.

The idea is to give Microsoft a 'cooler' edge, which right now we clearly see that Mac has been winning for a while in that. Everybody sees macintosh as a cool brand, and people see Microsoft as an old has been brand, experts say. Nobody remembers any kind of Microsoft ad, but as soon as Mac has a new ad, everyone is commenting on it. This is what they want to generate in the end. This 'Buzz' that is every marketers dream.

Lets see it this is as good as it looks like, although until Microsoft, makes some SERIOUS CHANGES to its operating system I could maybe, remotely, consider going back, but sincerely, I'm really happy with Apple products.

'Lightning' Bolt

A lot of you, or almost every one of you now knows, the name Michael Phelps, he broke almost every world record available for him to break, and he achieved 8 gold medals, a feat, no one had done before. 

Well, the swimming meets are over now, and the olympics are focused on another really interesting and really followed sport: the track and field. And another name that you will soon get to know, and most of you already know: Usain Bolt. The 21 year old Jamaican, who broke the world record on the 100m dash a couple of weeks ago, and 'celebrated' even before crossing the finish line, which many saw as a mockery of sorts. Many say his secret is due to his incredible size which stands at 6'5 contrary to many professional athletes who compete in the olympics, who are regularly 5'9 or 5'10. The average steps a normal competitor takes to finish the 100 meter dash are 46, Bolt did it in just 41 steps!

His time to make history has come now, he will run the men's 200m final today, and he is looking to crush Michael Johnson's world record of 19.32 seconds which has been there since 1996, Bolt's personal best is 19.67 which he ran last month, but many believe he has been holding out for the olympics so he can break the record on international television. He already beat the defending Champion Shawn Crawford last night in the qualifying rounds, as he finished jogging. 

Whatever happens, Im sure that we will be hearing a lot from this kid, Usain 'Lightning' Bolt at least for the next 2 olympic games.

Almost Struck by Lightning

Yelena Touches the Sky

The russian sensation in the olympics has been Yelena Isinbayeva, a track and field competitor, who today performed in the finals of the pole vaulting competition, and as many expected broke the world record, not just any record, but her world record.

She has had the world record since 2004 and now she shattered it jumping over an altitude of 5.05 meters. The silver medalist could only get 4.80, imagine the difference(25 cm to be exact).

Isinbayeva, celebrated as soon as she fell to the ground (picture) and as soon as she could, rushed over to pick up a russian flag to do her well deserved victory lap.

Another incredible story, from another incredible athlete.

7. Only one more to go.

Phelps has done it again, and now has tied Mark Spitz's record of 7 gold medals in olympic swimming meets. Today he won the 100 meter butterfly in a nail biting finish, that could've gone seriously wrong for the record. However, fate prevailed that it is Phelps turn to become the greatest swimmer ever. And he beat the Serbian Miroslav Cavic for only a hundreth of a second ahead of him. Amazing.

Just one more to go. And I can officially say that I am a PHELPS PHAN now.

The End of an ERA

I just got my newest birthday present today, and I can only say that it is AMAZING! you know that feeling that you get, when someone gives you a present and you really really really enjoy it? well, that feeling I have right now, my parents just gave me my b-day present today, a new 13 inch black macbook.

What an improvement from my last lap, not to put up any dislikes about the first one, but I mean an apple computer changes A LOT in 3 and a half years, maybe even four... had to say goodbye to my old Powerbook G4(pictured below) , which they do not make them anymore, now they are called Macbook Pro, and before that we had the Probook, so you can see its a really old model, but like a good Mac product, it still worked pretty good.

So, by now all of the posts will come from a new computer, don't worry the quality of the posts will be the same, if not better... I just had to publish this post in way of a tribute to my old mac... and don't even think of asking for it, I already have an interested buyer!

The Dark Knight.... reality check.

Finally after several weeks as the #1 movie all time, the Dark Knight has started its descent into what will be its normal place in the list of all time best movies. Some might say the haters give the movie 0 so that it drops to the far bottom, but honestly after seeing it I do not believe there are that many haters...

I don't think it drops below 10, heck I might say its going to be a top 5 movie for a long time.

Role Models

I've Been waiting to see the next movie from Christopher Mintz-Plasse... almost everyone of you will say who? look at the picture on the right....
Most of you know him as Mclovin... that funny looking nerd from superbad is back, this time as a kid in need of a role model in the sponsorship programs which are very famous in the US, sort of like the big brother programs, he gets Paul Rudd as his big brother, not only does this movie sound like a hit, it also includes Seann William Scott, better known as Stifler, playing the part of Rudd's best friend, and another one of the Big Brothers...

The plot sounds good, the actors look good, lets hope this one is as good as it looks, ill guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Helsinki Summer Games

Its been a long time since I've posted flash games on Lankuriosidad, but lets face it, good games are really hard to find, plus with not a lot of time in my hands, now I cannot play all of them as I did before, but thought to look for some nice olympic themed game, and found the Helsinki Summer Games 2005, its not the best game, but it will keep you entertained for a while.

The Michael Phelps frenzy continues on the olympics, today he broke the World Record in the 200 meters freestyle, bringing his total of participations to 3 competitions, 3 wins, 3 broken records...

It seems this kid is not only going after Mark Spitz's record, he has said he wants to win all of his competitions, and he wants to do it in record time in each one... an amazing competitor, well be sure to keep you informed...

GI: JOE : Rise of Cobra (The Movie)

When I was a young boy, one of my favorite past times was playing with my GIJOEs, just like Transformers did last year, when they brought one of my favorite toys to the big screen, GIJOE is doing the same thing on 2009...


I was really happy to hear this news since I have been a fan of these toys forever, now I hope that the movie is carefully done so that they dont throw the money down the trash... I was always a big fan of the cartoons as well, so I hope that they get back to some of those roots as well...
Now to the details. The movie is being directed by Stephen Sommers (The guy who did the first two Mummy franchise films) and some of the actors in the movie include: Dennis Quaid (Vantage Point) as General Hawk, Channing Tatum (Step Up) as duke, the main hero in the movie, the director originally wanted Mark Wahlberg, but he was busy doing some other films, Sienna Miller (Alfie) as the Baroness, Joseph Gordon Levitt (Third Rock from the Sun) as Cobra Commander, Arnold Voosloo (The Mummy) as Zartan and of course, Brendan Fraser as Gung Ho... some other credits include, Marlon Wayans, Jonathan Pryce, Rachel Nichols and Adewale Akinnuoye...

Sounds like an interesting project, although many are saying that this movie will be a fluke similar to what they did with the Mortal Kombat series... fans are saying that the suits look like reject designs from the X Men Movies, and many have expressed concern with the soldiers look, which instead of showing them as soldiers, they are being portrayed as superheroes... I guess we'll just have to wait till August 7 2009 to see it...
