And the Winner is....... Cobi

After 20 days of the poll and 20 votes it is finally closed, and by an overwhelming 8 votes, the compared to 3 of the second place, the winner of the best mascot of the olympics was the 1992 Barcelona games mascot Cobi... now, cobi might be the best mascot of the olympics, or maybe most of our readers lived those olympics when they were younger, and truly remember Cobi as a part of the games, anyways, here is some more info on the Catalan Sheepdog that inspired the mascot known as Cobi.

Cobi, was designed by Barcelona born artist Javier Valencia in a cubist style by the interpretations of Picasso of a masterpiece from Velazaquez, Las Meninas. It was unveiled on 1987 and its name derived from the Barcelona Olympic Organizing Commitee (COOB)

Before and during the games, Cobi was shown in different advertisements for notable Olympic sponsors such as Coca Cola, Danone and Brother Industries. They even produced his own TV series called 'The Cobi Troupe'. He quickly became an international celebrity and appeared in an extensive range of souvenirs called 'Cobiana' which proved to be a good source of income for the olympics. According to the International Olympic Committe, Cobi together with Misha (that friendly russian bear) have proven to be the most popular commercial success for the Olympic Games.

It took its original form from a typical Spaniard Dog called the Catalan Sheepdog (pictured below)
