The Blade Runner



This is the story of Oscar Pistorius also known as 'the blade runner', a south african athlete who has already been dubbed 'the fastest man alive in no legs'... Pistorius is a double amputee who competes in the 400 meter run, he made some noise earlier this year when he tried to compete for the beijing olympics, but in the end couldn't achieve the desired times. He missed his mark only by .70 seconds.
When asked if he would go to the olympics if the Olympic Committee would have invited him as a wild card, he replied he wouldn't accept it, because he wants to QUALIFY to the olympics, not just be a special guest.

There has been some speculation as to how his 'special' legs help him run faster than others due to the bouncing action of each leg. I say, stop making excuses and let him compete, it would be a shame if he makes the next olympics and they argue that he cannot compete because he is 'cheating'.

Now he is preparing himself for the 2012 Olympics in London, we probably will know more from him when the paralympics start in september.
