Well I stumbled upon this new version of the game thats also called snake but it has a bit of avariation starting with the fact that it has better graphics... the thing I did not like much is that the way the snake turns is way different than in the original game, I liked the way it was before better, but still, snake keeps being an addicting game wheter its on Qbasic, a cellphone or just a flash game... its always fun to play it...

URBAN REPORTS: Meat and more meat

The urban report this week is about, in my opinion one of the best restaurants in Monterrey,and quite franklya great experience to visit. The place is called "El Castor", or The Beaver, and its right in the crossing of Gonzalitos and Paseo de los Leones next to the Pollo Loco...

Its a delicious place where they serve meat, meat, and more meat, if you want to eat a salad, fried chicken or corn on the cob, you gotta try a Chilis, this a very northern kind of type restaurant where you will find all kinds of people, but specially really good food, the prices are not cheap but are really worth it... on a personal note also, the Queso Flameado is one of the best Ive ever tried, and when you order it you have it in your table in about 3 - 5 minutes, the speed is amazing...

The other special thing about the place is that the owner has pictures of himself with celebrites on the walls its nice to look at, but the only problem is that he has like pictures of Eduardo Capetillo and The channel 12 news lady Maria Julia something, so it is no one really that famous and its also a lot of eighties guys, I think Carlos Hermosillo is also there...

One last thought, dont forget to enjoy the bolitas roge and the glorias at the end... i strongly recommend you visit at least once...

URBAN REPORTS: ¨Hymn to the Aztecs¨

Since this past tuesday was November 20th Day of the mexican revolution, this urban report includes two, some might call them figures, from the city of Monterrey.
On my first journey I encountered an Aztec Indian, thats right, just like that on the streets, playing a little flute and a little drum, of course he is not an actual aztec guy, but his costume was pretty convincing, and as it happened with the menonitas, this was just odd to find on the streets.

The second picture of this week´s post is a monument to commemorate the writer of the mexican national anthem, and the anthem itself. The bulding´s name is Mexicanos al grito de guerra, which is the first line in our national anthem, the writer was Francisco Gonzalez Bocanegra, and his name is imprinted also on the outside, its a pretty nice sight and its located in the Linda Vista in Monterrey.

Thats all for this week, and also on a personal note to Rukini: I spend a lot of time in the car cause in my line of work is the same as if I worked in sales, I have to go all over the city meeting contacts, visiting people, and opening clubs...

URBAN REPORTS

A new chapter in the lankuriosidad world is born. Since in my job I do around 3 to 5 hours driving, I decided to start taking pictures of stuff that I see in the streets and stuff that I encounter as we tour the city of Monterrey and its metropolitan area.

Also in the urban reports im going to select interesting stuff from every article and make a link to wikipedia or some other reference page, so you can learn more about this stuff every time the urban reporter speaks...

URBAN REPORTS: "Menonitas y Tacos de Barbacoa"

Today as I was driving through the streets of Monterrey I noticed something weird on the streets, yes it is usual to see people selling stuff on the streets, usually its a guy selling chile's or windshield wipers for your car... but this time it was different... I actually saw a true Mennonite (menonita)! which are the guys who supposedly live in farms and make cheese, well this is the guy in the picture and the way he was dressed and the color of his skin told us he was one of them, not only was he wearing that outfit, he was selling cheese!!!!! incredible...

The other part of the report is to tell you about these amazing Taco place called Tacos del Remolque, they have two cars both of them in the Contry area of Monterrey, but the difference from other taco stands is that instead of the taquero being a man, its two women serving tacos!!! so the taste of the food is just like if it was homemade... in many ways the place is different from other businesses, but they still have, barbacoa, deshebrada, machacado, papa c/chorizo and frijoles, their edge though is with the cheese with chorizo tacos, and sausage and cheese tacos, talking to the Taco ladies they were telling me that they open at 8 am and by 10 30 am they dont have any more sausage, by 11 30 no more chorizo... they can say what they want about their different kinds of tacos, I tried a couple and the best ones are the Chorizo with cheese tacos, and incredibly the barbacoa tacos are now one of my favorites, they also have some nice habanero sauce, and a whole other variety of sauces.

its a really great place to eat those morning tacos, if you ever want to go, just ask the urban reporter...

Defeated by the Cock

It is my regret to inform lankuriosidad readers that this past weekend in Fantasy Football my rival was my fellow blogger Rukini who is the mastermind behind Cockfight and sadly the results were miserable, his team beat mine 113 to 81, so we can make the assumption that luck definitely beats talent... hahaha just kidding, he won this one fair and square... My team whose name from the beginning was Divide and Conquer, has been crushed by everyone in the league and I have won just 3 miserable games... so mainly they conquered my ass up... Even though I have Steve Smith, Reggie Bush, and Mr Touchdowns Ladainian Tomlinson... I got whupped...

Mac Meltdown

My mac had a meltdown, just like the picture and the title show... I dont know exactly what happened, but when I bought it one of the strongest selling points was that there were no viruses for mac or OSX systems, well now after 2 years, finally something got to my hard drive...

Yesterday I found out that my mac wasnt working that well, the pictures and the music files disappeared and the dock changed completely, so Ill be taking the lap over to the repair shop, so they can tell me WTF happened... Its something really weird actually, my whole desktop Interface changed and the files that I had on the desktop including all the folders and subfolders where gone...

so, maybe its a good excuse for me to buy a new mac with Intel processor and leopard operating system, but please if you are one of those many mac lovers out there, tell me some tips in the funny thoughts section, cause if you are a mac lover, you can imagine how I feel...

I'd appreciate your thoughts...

The other day, I found this site while snooping around the internet the other day, its called Urban Dictionary, and its actually a quite fun place to maybe just spend some time, or should I say lose some time of your day.

The site is a little bit like Wikipedia, except that in this one instead of just having info on anything, they just have meanings of words, but its not even words, its slangs, phrases and just plain stupid stuff.

On the part that its similar to Wiki is that the users upload the definitions, and sometimes they upload pretty stupid stuff, and sometimes they do have some useful stuff, so anyways, a cool site that you can add to your bookmarks...

A sunny new sensation

One of the best new series on TV its called its always sunny in philadelphia, the show airs on FX networks Thursdays @ 10pm...

The show is about four friends in their late 20s with clear sociopathic tendencies who run an Irish bar, "Paddy's Pub," in Philadelphia. The series deals with a variety of controversial topics, including abortion, gun control, racism, sexism, religion, transsexuality, slavery, sexual harassment in education, and gay rights. Danny Devito joined the cast as of seasons 2 and 3 as the twins dad.

The first time they told me about this program they said to me, Its like Seinfeld on crack, well I wont make that assurance because I know a lot of people consider Seinfeld the best Sitcom ever, but I will guarantee you that you will like it. I hadnt seen such a good show since they took arrested development off the air. This is just sarcasm at its best, and I truly recommend you see it, at least download a couple of episodes through itunes... On the internet movie database it has a rating of 9.6 stars out of 10.

When I was younger I remember I really liked the Cowboys, mainly because my dad liked them, then somewhere when I was growing up I changed teams and decided to root for the jaguars... so we can honestly say I went from the most liked to the least liked, here is the explanation:

Recently there was a national survey to find out what americans like and dislike regarding the NFL, it is quite a privilege to say that the team with the least number of fans in the country is the jacksonville jaguars... as it was expected the team with the most number of fans are the dallas cowboys...

Now ive only been to a couple of games myself but it is an honor for me to say that one of the two games ive seen was the Cowboys vs the Jaguars, in which they beat us 22-16...

maybe now that the jags are 4-1 this number will go up... and I havent been following the survey but they told me that this is like the third straight year that the jaguars host the bottom...
